Floor Coatings
-
- We use only the highest grade
industrial epoxy and urethanes for our floor coatings. Your choices
include:
Any of these systems can be
top coated with Polyaspartic clear coat if desired.
The typical job would include
degreasing and cleaning the floor. Depending on the application,
acid-etching, diamond-grinding, or shot-blasting will be used
to prep the surface for our products to adhere to.
Our floor systems provide
maximum protection from abrasive traffic. Sand, oil, dirt, and
chemicals wipe off with ease. It's chemical, impact, and scratch
resistant properties have proven themselves in thousands of applications
across the country in factories, warehouses, garages, auto and
marine dealerships.
-
- We use only the highest quality
materials, applied by professional installers, that will give
you a warrantied floor no local home improvement store product

- The
Epoxy / Urethane System
-
- This floor is our most popular
floor system because of its durability, high shine, overall appeal
and low cost. This floor is available in 13 different colors.

-
- Total Garage, Inc. uses a
four step machine scrub and cleaning process. This prepares the
floor to accept our coating products and hold them for years.
-
- A 100% solids epoxy is then
applied by roller and/or squeegee. This product is self-leveling,
filling in chips and erosion. We then use an epoxy paste to fill
any remaining cracks and pits not filled by the epoxy.
-
- The next step is to apply
a colored moisture cured urethane to the floor. This product
is applied with a roller to provide an even finish. We then broadcast
on a quartz-nonslip grit. Color flakes can also be applied at
this time.
-
- The final coat is a non-yellowing,
clear urethane to provide maximum protection and beauty to the
floor.
-
- This three-coat process is
the ultimate coating for this type of finish. As far as we know,
Total Garage, Inc. is the only company providing this Tuffcoat
process, and we are doing it at the cost of other companies'
two coat process.
-
- This is a two-day process.
On the third day you may return items removed from the floor
area. Cars and any machinery with rubber tires should stay off
the floor for an additional four to five days.
-
- A typical floor lasts eight
to ten years before you would think about recoating. Because
your cars will drag in sand and dirt you will begin to see dulling
where the floor has been scratched.
- Depending on how often you
clean the floor will depend upon how fast the dulling occurs.
When this happens (usually eight to ten years), we can come out
and do a recoat.

- We can provide a special
foam squeegee that works perfectly for cleaning your new floor

- Epoxy
Quartz System
-
- This floor is popular for
its unique blend of colored quartz. The 14
available colors of quartz can be blended into infinite color
combinations to create any look desired. This floor is also much
stronger because of the quartz aggregate being imbedded into
two thick coats of epoxy.
-
-
- A 100% solids epoxy is applied
at a rate of 80 square feet per gallon. The quartz is then broadcast
onto the epoxy until it no longer soaks it up
(approximately
1 lb. per sq ft). The following day the loose quartz is swept
up and a coat of clear epoxy is applied at 100 sq ft per gallon.
A final coat of clear, non-yellowing urethane is applied for
a durable, chemical resistant top coat.
-
- This floor provides over
10,000 psi impact resistance and is stronger than the concrete
it is put on. A typical floor lasts 25 to 30 years.
We provide a special foam squeegee that works perfectly for cleaning
your new floor at no charge to you at the completion of the job.

-
- Full-Flake
System
-
- The Full-Flake floor is done
the same way as the Quartz floor except instead of using quartz,
color flakes are broadcast into the epoxy. This floor has a look
similar to terrazzo.
-
- Accuflex
Floor
-
- The Accuflex floor looks
like the Epoxy Quartz floor except we us a special flexible epoxy
in place of the normal epoxy. The Accuflex has the same characteristics
of concrete as far as flexibility, expansion and contraction.
This makes it perfect for those garage floors that have rooms
underneath them.
-
- Existing cracks are routed
out and a mixture of Accuflex is poured into them. An additional
slurry coat can be spread on the floor to fill in erosion and
chips. After this preparation, we notch-squeegee more Accuflex
over the entire floor. Quartz aggregate is then broadcast into
the wet epoxy, similar to the Epoxy Quartz floor. The next day
we apply clear urethane over the quartz. This should now stop
any water and damaging salt from leaking through the slab to
the room below.
